Deciding Between Patio Door Curtains and Patio Door Blinds
Patio door curtains are a wonderful way to rejuvenate your room just in time for summer. Whether you choose to install actual patio door curtains or whether you opt for patio door blinds instead, the effect can be immediately transformative and brighten your room in an instant.
If the doors to your deck lead off of your living room then a great way to add a layer of depth to your space is to pick a color out of your existing decor and utilize that color in whichever draperies you choose. By working with a color that already exists within your space, you draw the eye from your existing decor to your glass doors without ever missing a beat. The look is seamless yet very soothing. The eye is not jarred by a new color at the glass doors; it just calmly sees from one corner of the room to the other with an appreciative glance. This is a trick that many decorators use to give their rooms a cohesive look.
On the other hand if you want to completely change the look of your space, you can opt for blinds in a vibrant and unexpected color. If your sliding doors are off of your kitchen area and not your living room, you might want to consider picking a brighter color out of your kitchen decor and then using this color on your blinds. Whereas once upon a time most blinds were only available in shades of beige and brown, this is most certainly no longer the case. Nowadays you can find them in colors like bright orange or vibrant green or red. It is just a matter of determining how bold you want to be and then following through on your daring design decor.
If you can not decide if you wish to install curtains or blinds, bear in mind that you can actually install both at the same time. You can opt for blinds to cover the bulk of your glass doors and then install long floor to ceiling drapery panels on either side of your doors. Another option is to simply install a valance over top of your sliding doors to top them off perfectly. Either option works great; it is just a matter of choosing a style that suits your needs.
